This new partnership of SSND, MMU, and Milwaukee Catholic Home will create a community that provides housing and support for SSND, aging seniors, and single mothers who attend the university and their children, as well as a daycare and early childhood center \u2014 all under one roof and integrated into the existing university campus.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"normalize\">raSmith<\/span>\u00a0provided a variety of technical services to support the design and construction of this $45 million development project.\u00a0<span class=\"normalize\">raSmith<\/span>\u2019s services included site civil engineering, structural engineering, land surveying, wetland and woodland evaluation, endangered resources review, traffic assessment, stormwater management, landscape architecture, grant writing, and municipal entitlement.<\/p>\n<p>The project was selected to receive up to a $1,356,030 construction cost reimbursement from the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) as part of the 2020 Green Infrastructure Partnership Program \u2014 the largest reimbursement MMSD has ever awarded.\u00a0<span class=\"normalize\">raSmith<\/span>\u2019s civil engineers and landscape architects designed an extensive system of porous pavement and bioswales to capture nearly 700,000 gallons of rainwater.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The School Sisters of Notre Dame (SSND) are relocating from their current residence in the Village of Elm Grove to a new multi-generational community on the campus of Mount Mary University (MMU) in the City of Milwaukee.
