{"id":2062347,"date":"2022-07-29T15:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-07-29T20:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/live-cs-engineer-magazine.pantheonsite.io\/?p=2062347"},"modified":"2022-07-29T11:24:18","modified_gmt":"2022-07-29T16:24:18","slug":"eleven-building-projects-receive-copper-architecture-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csengineermag.com\/eleven-building-projects-receive-copper-architecture-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Eleven Building Projects Receive Copper Architecture Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">The North American Copper in Architecture Awards program recognizes excellent uses of copper in educational, religious, and government buildings<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">McLean, VA<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u2014Eleven building projects across the United States and Canada recently received the prestigious North American Copper in Architecture (NACIA) award from the\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">Copper Development Association (CDA) for their outstanding application of architectural copper and copper alloys.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">Since its launch in 2008,\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">the NACIA awards program has recognized 189\u00a0copper buildings in the United States and Canada, including notable buildings such as the Colorado State Capitol, Harvard Law School, The Plaza Hotel, and St. Patrick&#8217;s Basilica.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u200e\u201c\u200eThe 2022 NACIA winners exhibit copper\u2019s endless range of applications through innovation in new and historical restoration projects,\u201d \u200esaid Larry Peters, Project Manager &amp; Architectural Applications Specialist for CDA. \u201cAnswering the growing demand to meet environmental goals using sustainable building materials, the 2022 winners demonstrate a perfect balance of maximizing green materials and longevity, creating architecture masterpieces for generations to come.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">The 11 winning projects were selected by a panel of judges based on the presence and use of copper and the significance of the project at hand \u2013 whether historic, modern, or otherwise.
